“Inbound Marketing:” Not Seeing Can Be Believing

by Accendo Digital @ Accendo Digital

Grandma may have been one who had to “see it before she’d believe it”, or buy it, but with the evolution of technology, this is no longer the case.  A business’s potential marketing base can be as small as a locale or as big as the world-wide web! Successful businesses and their customer base have learned the value and expediency of using web tools to obtain the products and services that they need.  They depend on on-line catalogs, product reviews, public forums, and the opportunity for product and price comparison to make sound decisions about purchases.  The effectiveness of outbound advertising, although still yielding positive results, seems to be waning in the face of the new marketing strategy of “inbound marketing”. Gone are the glory days of “as seen on t.v.” credibility, the hard sell, and the cold sell methods.  With tighter budgets, less cash flow, and the need to buy smart, consumers are seeking companies that they feel they can trust.  Inbound marketing communicates to clients that the business wants to help them to be able to make informed and sound decisions about what products and services to purchase.  Building this kind of trust into a business relationship will produce long term business rapport.  It is a viable and effective way to make money through the use of communication without the sales pitch thus building a healthy and profitable level of trust and respect with a prospective client, even before that person becomes a paying customer.  Customers will follow if […]

How to Market My Small Business Online

by Accendo Digital @ Accendo Digital

With the rise of internet usage, many small businesses are harnessing the power of connectivity to reach their customers. According to HubSpot, an astounding 79% of Americans use the internet. Reaching potential patrons has proved to be a business all in itself, though. Surprisingly, web-based email usage is on the decline. This means that contact with customers through email subscriptions and newsletters might not be as effective as previously thought. This places higher importance on websites that are set up as a hub to attract visitors through their everyday internet explorations – i.e. search engines, social media and other blogs. The answer to many companies’ quandary lies simply in becoming more active with the online community. For example, to grab the attention of the general public, create media. Make a video, infographic, post pictures or make a downloadable guide or ebook. Establish that your business is exciting, committed and easily accessible. If you take advantage of Twitter or Facebook, aim to be more personable. Customers appreciate a break from constantly hearing sales pitches, and creating an online rapport on social media could lead to customer reviews and word of mouth recommendations. Finally, join discussions on forums that relate to your business or on blog comments. Question and answer websites like Quora can also be helpful. Get involved with others who share your passion and offer insight.

“Inbound Marketing:” Increase in Number and Loyalty

by Accendo Digital @ Accendo Digital

“Inbound marketing”, although more work, allows people greater freedom while offerig them higher quality in their marketing efforts. We are an information society; there is no doubt about that. There is so much information that we cannot absorb it all. When we have an overly sufficient supply of something, we tend to become a bit more choosey.  It’s like television. No matter how many programs one can watch, there are only so many one can digest in a single day or sitting. The more we have to choose from, the more tend to value our time. Once this happens, we quickly make distinctions between good and bad use of our time. We have now begun to make more deliberate choices regarding which websites, blogs, etc. are important to us. What that means for the web designer, blogger, etc. is not the amount of information that goes in, but the quality of the message, or the ease of the user interface that keeps people coming back. I will use an analogy. When a family adopts a dog it is not the family who chooses the dog, but rather the dog chooses the family. In much the same way, we have begun to assimilate some of the habits of our canine companions, and have decided to choose rather than be chosen. In short we look at outbound marketing, almost as a waste of resources. When choices were fewer, outbound marketing was great. However, the tactics that worked, even up to a few […]

by Today's Industry Insider @ The Kissmetrics Marketing Blog

In real estate, the axiom is location, location, location. It’s first and foremost. The number one consideration. Small Business Online Marketing Content Needs Substance

by Accendo Digital @ Accendo Digital

The ongoing changes in search engine algorithms are putting greater emphasis on website content to earn high rankings. These changes are affecting many small business online marketing efforts. Whether it be for a company website or a social media page, strong, original content is going to be essential to business success. So how does one know what constitutes quality content? Answering that question is not so easy. A great number of variables, beginning with what type of business you are running, will have a lot to say about the content you choose to use. Arnie Kuenn, author and CEO at Vertical Measures, offer this comment in an interview posted at Search Engine Journal: “To me the best way to make your content stand out, is to create it for your audience, not you and not for the search engines. Provide real, valuable, informational, fun content for your customers (or potential customers) and do it on a consistent basis. That is how you win these days.” Search engine rankings will continue to be important in digital marketing. What’s changing is the methods for achieving those higher rankings. The search engine programmers are attempting to put the focus on quality sites which is also what users have repeatedly demanded. The changes they began implementing last year and which are continuing with updates even now, are aimed at filtering out sites which provide little content of value and which exist solely for the purpose of getting high rankings and views. Perhaps the best way to analyze your […]

Why an Online Presence is Good For Any Business

by Accendo Digital @ Accendo Digital

Everything is becoming digital. Many businesses now exist completely online and today’s new strategy for financial success is mainly with social media marketing. Businesses starting today would usually not even think to open their doors without some sort of online presence. It’s smart and helpful because, through online marketing and a small business website, you have a direct line to customers and a more realistic approach to potential customers. Many small businesses have yet to make the leap into the digital world because their businesses are based on older, and still validated, principles. Older small businesses may see no need to reach beyond their small customer base and see no need to throw their company into the very digital twenty first century. Here’s why it’s beneficial to have a small business website and also why exploring online marketing is only good for businesses, big or small: 1. A website is a great way to connect with your customers: If there is something people love, it is seeing a business take that extra step to provide them with easier access and to connect with them. A website for a small business helps with that. In some cases, it can lead to extra revenue and it also provides a way to connect to the customers a business already has. Most importantly, however, it becomes an avenue for more customers to find said business. For instance, you may just be in the Denver area but wouldn’t it be nice for people in other […]

Small Business Evolves Through Content Marketing

by Accendo Digital @ Accendo Digital

Small business owners are innovators. Without colossal overhead, corporate lawyers, or exorbitant advertising budgets, the small business owner has shaped the landscape of American business. While many such pioneers are currently feeling the squeeze from larger corporations, many others have discovered the level playing field that can be found when small business harnesses the power of content marketing, offering your clientele the information they need to make an informed decision and building the trust that they expect. Content marketing involves creating and distributing relevant content for the purpose of engaging a targeted audience in order to achieve business goals. Content marketing predicts the compelling details that will captivate an audience’s interest, exploring the material at a much more pedagogical level than traditional advertising. Such strategy utilizes such tools as webcasts, e-books, videos, case studies, brochures, blog posts, etc. to broaden the consumer’s understanding. It is this very instruction that allows you to build a relationship with your potential clients. Through this instructional pattern, consumers know that you see them as more than mere revenue; consequently, you earn their trust and they will feel confident in doing business with you. While traditional marketing techniques might be more familiar to you, those strategies are failing today’s small business owners. The marketplace has changed; therefore, the marketing practices must follow suit. In reviewing 100 Awesome Marketing! Stats! Charts! & Graphs, it becomes painfully obvious just how much America’s buying patterns have transformed. Today, 3/4 of all U.S. adults are online, performing many of the tasks […]

Developing a Persona Through Small Business Online Marketing

by Accendo Digital @ Accendo Digital

As the owner of a small business you have become your own best customer. Think about it- who else would know more about what you do than you? Bearing that in mind, think like the customer that you want to attract. What would you look for in a company specializing in your product? Now this is not to say that you are a specialist in small business online marketing. But what you are is a specialist in knowing what will spark interest in your clientele. Consider what you know about your future client- they obviously have an interest in or use for your knowledge or what you are selling. The range of interest may be wide… Build Your Web Presence – A novice seeking the advice or guidance of professionals will gravitate toward a company who can speak on their level. A potential client wants to know that they are respected and will not be ‘talked down to’ while they are learning about the product or service. Engage Your Audience – A person with some experience and knowledge on the topic will appreciate a kinship with your company. Speak to the potential client with the idea that you will add to their existing ideas about what your company does or the service you can provide, and that you will be able to fulfill their needs. Convert Customers – Now that you have created a link with the consumer, make them feel as if you are the best possible solution to their […]

Is Your Website Optimized for Social Media? | Simply Measured

Simply Measured

Metadata can be an easily overlooked facet of social marketing, pawned off on the web developer or SEO specialist, but if you're the one responsible for content being shared on social, then this should fall squarely on your shoulders. Social metadata can make the difference between your website content being shared, clicked on, or completely ignored. What Is Metadata and Why Should You Care? Metadata is defined by WhatIs.com as "data that describes other data." A website is just a bunch of data, and its metadata describes that data, breaking down all sorts of things. From how long a page is, to which keywords matter, and what images are on a page, metadata tells other parts of the internet what your site actually is, but in a CliffNotes version. 2016 Social Marketing Planning Guide When we think about metadata, we think of SEO and search engines crawling a website, but metadata is just as useful to the social marketer.
